(What the role is)
This is a 2-year position as a Lecturer, Eldercare in the School of Humanities and Interdisciplinary Studies.
(What you will be working on)
Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:
Curriculum development, course delivery (face-to-face/online) and project supervision for youth and adult learners in the following areas:
- Perspectives of Ageing
- Empowerment & Wellness for Seniors
- Inclusive Ageing & Society
- Lifespan and Psychology of Ageing
- Gerontechnology and Behaviour Design
- Social Policy & Legislation in Ageing
- Population Health & Ageing
- Community Development for Seniors
- Intergenerational Service-Learning
- Multidisciplinary industry-based projects
- Able to teach at least one evening or weekends in the week
- Lead and identify new initiatives and collaborations with the industry, institutes of higher learnings & related agencies
- Stay updated on trends in community solution and care planning for seniors and integrates these into teaching and project work
- Handle administrative work relating to teaching and assigned projects
- Supervise students during internships
(What we are looking for)
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Social Work, Community Development, Gerontology or equivalent
- Direct experience and strong interest in eldercare
- Experience in volunteer management, programme and project management in social, community and/or eldercare settings
- Experience in teaching communications related subjects and/or have IT skills will be an advantage
- An agile team player with good interpersonal and communication skills
- Proficient in project/time management with a keen attention to detail
- Connections within the non-profit, social service, or care sectors
