Lecturer (Architecture)
The appointee must be competent to teach in the following key areas of the Construction Industry Transformation Map (ITM) and architectural domains at diploma level:
• Integrated Digital Delivery (IDD), with a focus on Computational Design and A.I. applications
• Architectural Design
• History and Theory of Architecture
• Green Buildings Design
• Construction and Detailing
• Design for Manufacturing & Assembly (DfMA)
[What you will be working on]
Responsibilities:-
- Conduct lessons, create teaching and assessment materials, and facilitate learning for both Pre-Employment Training (PET) and Continuing Education and Training (CET) students with an emphasis on Computational Design, A.I. applications and History and Theory of Architecture.
- Keep abreast of current developments and trends in the areas of the Construction Industry Transformation Map and/or Architectural domains to develop and maintain relevant and up-to-date teaching curriculum.
This includes review of existing curriculum with a view to making recommendations on areas of improvements that would enhance students’ performance, learning & employability. - Enhance students’ learning through other activities such as training students for competitions, supervising projects and internships, and leading them on overseas learning program/community service.
- Collaborate with other staff as well as industry to offer meaningful applied industry projects and consultancy projects. Support SkillsFuture initiatives in the implementation of Enhanced Internship Programmes, Work Study Programme and CET programmes.
[What we are looking for]
Requirements:-
- Relevant qualifications and certifications in Architecture.
- At least 4 years of relevant working experience in Architecture, preferably with experience in Computational Design and A.I. Applications.
- Conversant with Architecture History and Theory from 1900s and onwards.
- Conversant with Construction and Detailing.
- Passion in imparting knowledge and mentoring students and adult learners
- Good communication skills
- Strong team player
- Able to engage the industry on consultancy projects
