We are seeking a Legal Officer to join our team in January 2026.
This is a relatively senior role within our casework team, focusing on both regular case handling and specialist legal matters such as supervising cases at the Employment Claims Tribunal (ECT).
We welcome applications from:
• Paralegals with a diploma and strong relevant experience, or
• Legally trained persons / lawyers looking to make a mid-career switch to a meaningful, less stressful environment.
Key Responsibilities
Case Management:
• Handle and oversee cases involving migrant workers, including intake, advice, and follow-up.
• Perform triage and provide clear, practical guidance on legal rights and remedies.
• See cases through from start to end, including gathering of supporting documents, assisting with salary calculations, and preparation of court bundles.
Legal Specialisation:
• Prepare and manage cases for hearing at the ECT.
• Draft and review legal documents and submissions.
• Provide legal research and advice on employment law, contract disputes, and related areas.
Advocacy & Policy:
• Work with the advocacy team to identify systemic issues arising from case trends.
• Work with the communications team to raise awareness and highlight select cases and impact.
• Work with the research team.
Collaboration & Mentorship:
• Support other caseworkers on legal aspects of their cases.
• Build relationships with pro bono lawyers, legal clinics, and partner organisations.
• Develop volunteer network to assist clients during ECT hearings under the Community Courts and Tribunals (CCT) Friends Scheme.
Requirements
• Diploma or degree in law or field related to law; admission to bar not essential.
• Knowledge of employment law, dispute resolution, or related practice areas.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and written communication skills.
• Empathy, cultural sensitivity, and the ability to work with vulnerable individuals.
• Organised, adaptable, and able to manage multiple cases simultaneously.

Remuneration
$5,500 monthly salary plus mandated employer CPF contribution plus 1% Medisave top-up, for a 5-day (Mon-Fri) 40-hour work week.
