We are looking for a
Linux Infrastructure Engineer
with
3 to 5 years of hands‐on experience
managing and supporting enterprise‐grade Linux systems in an on‐premises environment.
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the stability, performance, and security of Linux‐based infrastructure across production, DR, Dev Ops and staging environments.
This role involves close collaboration with infrastructure and application teams to maintain a reliable and secure IT infrastructure foundation.
Key Responsibilities
Install, configure, and maintain Linux servers (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu, or SUSE) across production, DR, Dev Ops and staging environments.
Perform system administration tasks, including patching, performance tuning, log management, and troubleshooting.
Manage VMware or physical server environments, ensuring system availability and capacity planning.
Participate in infrastructure lifecycle management, including system upgrades, migrations, and hardware refreshes.
Support backup, restore, and disaster recovery (DR) operations and periodic DR exercises.
Implement OS hardening, security compliance, and access control based on corporate policies.
Maintain monitoring, alerting, and reporting for system performance and uptime using enterprise tools (e.g., Grafana, Solarwinds).
Create and maintain technical documentation, system inventories, and change records.
Collaborate with Infrastructure teams to ensure seamless integration and optimal infrastructure performance.
Provide support during scheduled maintenance windows and participate in standby support for critical infrastructure incidents.
Requirements
Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related discipline.
3–5 years of solid experience in Linux infrastructure administration in enterprise environments.
Hands‐on experience with RHEL/CentOS and VMware virtualization.
Strong understanding of infrastructure components—networking, DNS, NTP, storage, and backup.
Familiarity with hardware platforms (Dell, HP, IBM) and firmware management.
Experience with system patching and configuration management tools (YUM, DNF, Ansible, Puppet).
Good understanding of monitoring and alerting systems.
Knowledge of shell scripting or automation (Bash, Python).
Familiarity with change management and ITIL‐based operational procedures.
Relevant certifications such as RHCSA/RHCE, Linux+, or VMware VCP.
Good to Have
Experience with DR site operations and failover planning.
Knowledge of containerization (Podman).
Exposure to backup and restore tools (Veeam, NetBackup, CommVault etc).
Soft Skills
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
Responsible, disciplined, and able to work independently under minimal supervision.
Good communication and teamwork, able to coordinate with cross‐functional teams.
Proactive in identifying and implementing infrastructure improvements.
5 day week @ AMK area (Need to travel to site (either Changi Prison/ Harbourfront area)).
