Position Overview
The Logistics Manager is responsible for overseeing the dispatch, scheduling, and operational efficiency of the company's concrete delivery fleet.
This role ensures timely delivery of ready-mix concrete to project sites, manages driver performance, optimizes fleet utilization, and coordinates with operations and batching plant teams to meet customer requirements safely and cost-effectively.
Key Responsibilities
Fleet & Dispatch Management
- Plan, schedule, and oversee daily truck dispatch to ensure timely deliveries.
- Optimize truck routing to minimize waiting time and maximize utilization.
- Monitor real-time deliveries and address site or traffic delays promptly.
Coordination with Plant Operations
- Liaise with batching plant operators to align truck dispatch with production schedules.
- Ensure correct mix types and quantities are delivered as per order requirements.
Driver & Staff Management
- Supervise and manage truck drivers, including scheduling shifts and monitoring attendance.
- Conduct driver briefings and training on safety, compliance, and company policies.
- Implement driver performance evaluations and disciplinary measures when required.
Compliance & Safety
- Ensure fleet operations comply with road regulations, safety standards, and company polices
- Oversee timely renewal of COE, road tax, insurance, and vehicle inspections.
- Investigate incidents, breakdowns, or delivery issues and implement corrective actions.
Cost & Efficiency Control
- Monitor fuel consumption, overtime, and truck maintenance costs.
- Identify opportunities to reduce logistics costs without compromising service quality.
- Work with procurement and maintenance teams to ensure fleet readiness.
Reporting & Administration
- Maintain accurate delivery, fleet utilization, and cost reports.
- Track and update truck fleet records, including road tax, COE, insurance, and service schedules.
- Provide monthly logistics performance reports to management.
Qualifications
- Diploma/Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business, or related field (preferred).
- At least 5–7 years of experience in logistics or fleet management, preferably in construction, ready-mix concrete, or related industries.
- Strong knowledge of transportation regulations and fleet compliance requirements.
- Proven leadership and people management skills.
- Proficiency in logistics/dispatch software and MS Office.
- Strong problem-solving, planning, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
