Machine Learning Engineer, Location Product — TikTok Data Video Recommendation Team focuses on personalized recommendation algorithms for TikTok's global users.
You will collaborate with top algorithm engineers to leverage deep learning, recommendation algorithms, and large models to transform and enhance the TikTok user experience and content ecosystem.
The local service recommendation team targets user experience optimization and transaction scale for lifestyle service content, including hotels, travel, dining, and more, with the aim of pioneering new content and revenue streams.

Responsibilities
- Responsible for developing transaction recommendation algorithms for international local services.
Collaborate with the team to build an industry-leading recommendation system that accurately recommends local service products to hundreds of millions of global users, increasing transaction volume and enhancing the user transaction experience.
- Proficient in core recommendation algorithms with a deep understanding of machine learning, deep learning, and LLMs applied to video, live streaming, geographic location, and product recommendation systems.
Optimize recall strategies, model architectures, and multi-objective optimization mechanisms to improve efficiency and accuracy.
- Drive the integration of local service transaction optimization with industry knowledge.
Analyze characteristics of the local services industry (e.g., hotels, travel, dining) and combine domain knowledge with recommendation algorithms to enhance user transaction experiences, improve conversion efficiency, and enable scalable GMV growth in local services.
- Optimize user transaction and decision-making experiences.
Research user discovery behaviors using data mining and analytical techniques to improve user interactions during transactions and overall experience, strengthening user trust and loyalty to the platform.
Qualifications
- Minimum Qualifications: Master’s degree or above in computer science or a related field.
- Strong programming skills with a solid foundation in machine learning/deep learning; experience in recommendation systems, computational advertising, search engines, or LLM-related fields is preferred.
- Passionate about recommendation algorithms and machine learning, with a willingness to learn, think critically, delve deeply, and innovate.
- Excellent problem analysis and solving skills, along with strong communication abilities and a collaborative team spirit.
