R-16520**Role Summary:**We are seeking a skilled Machinist to set up and operate a range of machine tools used in producing precision parts and instruments.
This role involves fabricating, modifying, and repairing mechanical components and instruments, as well as supporting maintenance of industrial machinery.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to apply knowledge of mechanics, mathematics, metal properties, layout, and machining procedures to deliver high-quality work.**Responsibilities:*** Operate a variety of manual and CNC machines, ensuring parts are produced to specification and within required tolerances.* Perform operational tasks by following established procedures, work instructions, and safety protocols.* Assist in equipment maintenance and repair, ensuring machinery operates efficiently and safely.* Utilize precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, dial indicators, and depth gauges to verify dimensional accuracy.* Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and geometric tolerances to determine machining requirements.* Follow health, safety, and environmental standards to promote a safe and compliant workplace.* Ensure operational compliance with internal procedures, quality standards, and external regulatory requirements.* Communicate effectively with colleagues and supervisors to exchange information and support team operations.* Support process improvements and contribute to maintaining high standards of quality and productivity.* Perform other duties as assigned.**Requirements:*** High School Diploma or GED.* Relevant machining experience in a manufacturing or mechanical repair environment.* Proven ability to operate manual lathes, milling and boring machines.* Competency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and geometric tolerances.* Familiarity with precision measuring instruments and quality control procedures.* Basic understanding of safety practices and workplace compliance standards.**Preferred Experience / Skills:*** Hands-on experience operating precision machining equipment.* Strong verbal communication skills with the ability to convey information clearly and courteously.* Sound planning, organizational, and time management skills to prioritize and meet operational goals.* Demonstrated commitment to safe work practices and continuous improvement initiatives.* Ability to follow policies and procedures while aligning with organizational objectives.
