Job description

Coordinating all activities related to Chartering matters and operations.


Main tasks and responsibilities:
Negotiation with vessel brokers/owners for prefixing new Charter vessels.


Fixing Charter Party agreements.


Coordination with Legal Department for prefixing of the Charter Party.


Coordinating between internal departments for operational and accounting matters.


Serving as a mediator between Operations and Vessel Owners.


Handling EWRI and Armed Guards fixtures.


Maintaining Fleet Management Reports and records.


Carrying out pre-fixture evaluation of vessel suitability, regulatory compliance, and risk mitigation for the intended trade use.


Conducting mid and post-fixture evaluations of vessel performance and suitability for the trade.


Working with the direct reporting line to understand market trends, freight rates, and creating a competitive edge in chartering through developing opportunities and strategies.


Building and maintaining strong relationships with ship owners, ship brokers, and stakeholders to achieve company goals.


Leading and guiding the chartering team members to achieve set chartering goals.


In coordination with the Operations Director:
Checking vessel performance, bunker consumption, and speed based on TCD.


Involvement in new trading projects, both Liner and Feeder.


Key interactions (Internal | External):
Education requirements:
Graduate or Master's level education.

Good computer skills (shipping software, EBMS, Tally, finance modules, related logistics/shipping/marine certifications, MS Office - Excel).


Background and experience:
Minimum 8-10 years of experience in similar roles within the shipping industry.


Competencies and skills:
Time management and organizational skills.


Analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills, especially under pressure and tight deadlines.


Team management and leadership qualities.
