About The Role
The Regional Chocolate Supply Planning Manager is responsible for managing all regional chocolate supply planning activities in the chocolate supply region across the different horizons.
This includes tactical supply planning for chocolate and interactions with Global chocolate supply planning, Operational planning and factories.
Work with the Cocoa supply planning teams to secure cocoa ingredients, non-cocoa raw material planning and Inventory Strategy.
This role collaborates with the Regional Supply Chain team and Operations organization to evaluate demand-supply balancing scenarios to be presented in the S&OP and S&OE processes.
The supply plan from the Regional Supply Planning team is used to confirm sales orders.
The main objective is to provide the best possible supply plan to optimize service to customers, minimize inventory and optimize total delivered cost.
Key Responsibilities Include
Monthly Chocolate Tactical Plan and S&OP preparation.
Oversee the creation of a supply plan that meets the sign-off forecast while optimizing factory shift regimes, inventories and backup supply costs.
Create scenarios for different risk and opportunities in the demand plan.
Align with factories on shift regimes.
Present the supply scenarios in the S&OP.
Operational Chocolate Planning and S&OE preparation.
Manage the operational planning organization for liquid and solid products, ensuring optimal supply plans for solids to confirm sales orders, and optimize the supply network for liquid and solids.
Deliver the weekly supply plan to factories for scheduling.
Prepare scenarios to manage order escalations and present them in the S&OE.
Collaborate with plant management leadership to hold sites accountable for plan execution.
Provide support and training to plant supply chain teams to implement schedules when needed.
Oversee raw material and packaging planning for the region.
Align with cocoa planning teams on cocoa requirements for chocolate in S&OE and S&OP horizons.
Lead the team that plans palletized raw materials, runs MRP and places purchase orders.
Set safety stocks and replenishment parameters for raw and packaging materials.
Define and manage the finished good inventory strategy for the region.
Align with Regional Supply Chain on finished good stock policies, safety stocks, replenishment and distribution to maximize service while optimizing inventories.
Define long-term prebuilds and follow up with commercial teams on slow movers and with factories on blocked stocks and rework.
Develop and manage business continuity plans for the region.
Own the production transfer process and coordinate with R&D, QA, Operations, Engineering and Sales to set up alternative manufacturing options.
Manage high-profile new customer or new product introductions from a supply planning perspective.
Support the implementation of an optimal manufacturing footprint.
Align with Global chocolate supply planning on the MTP plan and investment requirements.
Implement best practices and tools developed with Global chocolate supply planning and COE.
Ensure the supply planning teams are properly staffed and trained, and that processes are documented.
Travel requirements: Up to 25% of the time.
About You
10-15 years of experience in a senior Supply Chain and/or Operations management function in a manufacturing environment
Bachelor or master degree in business administration, economics or similar
Preferably APIC CPIM certified
Strong communication and presentation skills
Ability to lead and manage change in a complex environment
Proficient in English
Strong understanding of end-to-end supply chain processes, from execution to S&OP
Strong understanding of Forecast to Stock and the integrated supply planning process: long-term, medium-term and scheduling horizons, from raw material to finished goods
Experience in supply chain continuous improvement processes
Good analytical skills
Process oriented with strong managerial skills and ability to manage change in a complex environment
Ability to bring people together, set a common agenda and manage interfaces between functions
Ability to drive change in a collaborative way
Ability to communicate effectively across the organization
Ability to build diverse and inclusive teams
