We invite applications for the position of Manager, Laboratory Services.
The incumbent will collaborate closely with the Office of Safety and Health (OHS), EEE stakeholders, and relevant statutory and regulatory agencies to advance and strengthen safety practices within the school.
This role provides an opportunity to contribute significantly to improving workplace safety and health standards while fostering a proactive and positive safety culture.
Key Responsibilities
Enhance EEE’s safety and health audit processes to ensure effectiveness and compliance.
Develop and maintain safety policies aligned with Singapore Workplace Safety & Health (WSH) regulations and related standards.
Initiate and drive proactive measures beyond regulatory requirements to cultivate a strong culture of safety and health within the school.
Stay informed on updates and best practices related to Singapore’s Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) Act and associated regulations.
Conduct workplace safety and health audits and routine inspections to identify potential hazards and recommend appropriate corrective actions.
Prepare, update, and manage comprehensive safety documentation and records.
Investigate accidents, near‐misses, and safety incidents, producing detailed reports and implementing preventive measures to avoid recurrence.
Maintain accurate and up‐to‐date safety records, preparing periodic reports for management and relevant regulatory bodies.
Collaborate with stakeholders to address workplace safety and health concerns, offering solutions to minimize or eliminate risks and hazards.
Plan, organize, and deliver safety training programs tailored for employees across all levels.
Develop, implement, and regularly review safety policies and procedures to ensure alignment with the WSH Act and regulations.
Serve as the liaison between the school, NTU office of health & safety, and statutory bodies or regulatory agencies on matters of workplace safety and health.
Lead and manage any ad‐hoc projects or duties assigned by the school.
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering.
Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in Safety and Health Management.
Certification as a Registered Workplace Safety and Health Officer (WSHO) is an advantage.
Proven expertise in managing safety and health management systems.
Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
Leadership qualities essential for success in this role.
Capability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities effectively.
Exceptional problem‐solving skills applied consistently in all situations.
Extensive experience in drafting, formulating, and administering safety policies.
Comprehensive knowledge of general safety standards and guidelines, such as ISO 45001.
Highly motivated, proactive, and demonstrates a strong sense of initiative.
