At NLB, you can look forward to a flexible, hybrid work environment with rewarding, impactful deliverables that improve the lives of the community.

With caring colleagues, you will be in an ideal environment for professional development, innovation and impact.

We can offer you:

We value ideas, curiosity and a passion for innovation to transform our libraries and archives.
• An organisation that Cares for your Growth and Wellbeing through investment in staff development and wellbeing in a supportive and collaborative environment.

Own the product strategy for key digital services, drive product-market fit through continuous discovery, and steer cross-functional teams from idea to launch.

Success hinges on defining and tracking clear metrics, using data and research to iterate, and applying strong technical know-how to make grounded decisions.

[What you will be working on]

  • Develop and maintain a product strategy and phased roadmap that advance NLB’s objectives.
  • Lead discovery and validation work to achieve product-market fit: user research, competitive analysis, rapid experiments and prototyping.
  • Define, track and act on key product metrics such as engagement, retention and cost-to-serve.
  • Translate business needs, user needs and insights into a prioritised backlog; guide UX and engineering through MVP and iterative releases.
  • Identify and remove impediments, negotiate trade-offs and ensure compliance with public-sector procurement and processes.
  • Lead the preparation of business cases, go-to-market (launch) plans and end-of-life strategies.
  • Champion a user-centred, data-driven approach across teams and stakeholders.

[What we are looking for]

  • Strong hands-on technical experience designing, developing and maintaining digital or mobile products.
  • Minimum three years of product management in digital or mobile environments with a proven track record of shipping successful digital products, with additional three years either in digital project management or technical roles.
  • Proven ability to grow adoption through data-led decisions and metric-driven iteration.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, including experience interfacing with technical teams, community partners and senior leadership.
  • Familiarity with agile methods, user research and analytics tools.
  • Experience in public-sector procurement processes is an added advantage.

Work location will be at the Marine Parade Public Library.

As the library is currently closed for renovation, the current work location is at the National Library Building.

Successful applicant will be appointed on an initial two-year contract.
