Job description

[What the role is]

You will be part of the RSU team within IMDA’s Strategic Planning and Digital Readiness Group.

This team undertakes data analytics and economic research, to sense make and guide strategy and policy development in IMDA.

The team also closely supports IMDA’s line divisions’ needs for data and statistics for policy and programme formulation.

In this role, you will apply analytical framework and techniques on a variety of data types to derive policy and programme insights.

We would like to invite an independent and self-motivated individual with a keen interest in driving the growth of Singapore’s digital economy and digital society to join us.

[What you will be working on]

  • Conduct research and analysis to gain insights into current trends and forecast developments in the digital economy and digital society.
  • Quantitatively assess the economic and social impacts of IMDA's policies and programmes.
  • Collaborate effectively with stakeholders within and outside the organisation to define data needs, supporting evidence-based policy and strategy development.
  • Engage in data acquisition, quantitative modelling, and advanced analytics, including data visualization, to provide actionable insights.
  • Identify and implement data-driven initiatives to foster innovation and reinforce a data-centric approach within the organization.
  • Provide data and statistical support for policy and programme formulation.

[What we are looking for]

  • Background in Economics, Statistics, Data Science or a closely related field.
  • 4-5 years of experience in quantitative research and analysis.
  • Proficiency in statistical software and programming languages such as Python, R and Stata.
  • Familiarity with data visualisation techniques and tools such as Tableau.
  • An independent, self-motivated individual with the ability to tackle complex issues and thrive in cross-functional teams.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a talent for presenting complex data in a clear and persuasive manner.
