Job description

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and implementation of robust, scalable, highly available, and cost-efficient cloud infrastructure across both global and regional cloud environment (AWS).
  
  
• Develop and implement standardized cloud Landing Zone architecture, including enterprise governance models, network topologies, logging, monitoring, and access controls in alignment with global infrastructure compliance requirements.
  
  Promote adoption of the Well-Architected Framework to ensure systems meet key principles of performance, security, cost-efficiency, reliability, and operational excellence.
  
  
• Contribute to the Global Cloud Center of Excellence (CCoE) by delivering architecture standards, service catalogs, automation templates, and training materials.
  
  Mentor teams to strengthen cloud-native capabilities through knowledge sharing sessions, communities of practice, and contributions to open-source initiatives.
  
  Champion Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) by defining and driving the implementation of SLIs, SLOs, and SLAs to enhance availability and operational efficiency.
  
  
• Spearhead Infrastructure as Code (IaC) initiatives by developing standardized and reusable modules using tools such as Terraform, OpenTofu, and CloudFormation, integrated with source control systems like GitHub or Bitbucket.
  
  
• Provide hands-on leadership in implementing serverless and DevOps solutions, including container orchestration (ECS, EKS), service mesh, microservices, and event-driven architectures.
  
  Support cloud-native modernization and migration efforts by integrating functions such as Lambda or equivalent technologies.
  
  Optimize container images for security and efficiency, integrate them with CI/CD pipelines, and configure load balancing and service discovery.
  
  Partner with DevOps teams to implement automated, version-controlled deployment and rapid rollback processes.
  
  
• Architect and implement cloud security frameworks, including identity and access management, network segmentation, encryption strategies, and compliance auditing aligned with enterprise security requirements.
  
  
• Formulate and drive cloud cost optimization strategies by leveraging tools such as Cost Explorer, tagging standards, and usage-based purchasing options.
  
  Actively participate in strategic planning and architecture review sessions to ensure alignment between cloud solutions, business priorities, and technology roadmaps.
  
  
• Collaborate across product, engineering, operations, and security teams to ensure successful implementation of architectural solutions.
  
  Engage in tool selection and proof-of-concept activities to assess suitability and alignment with platform goals.
  
  
• Develop automation scripts (e.g., using Python and Boto3) to streamline resource management and operational workflows.
  
  Implement custom resource handlers and build monitoring and alerting solutions leveraging cloud-native or third-party tools.
  
  
• Establish and maintain a comprehensive cloud architecture knowledge base and documentation system to support knowledge sharing and technical enablement across teams.
  
  
• Define and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) and automate operational tasks to improve system stability, efficiency, and incident response capabilities.
  
  
• Design and implement Generative AI (GenAI) solutions using cloud-based large language models.
  
  Optimize models for business-specific use cases, implement responsible AI practices including guardrails and compliance controls, and apply prompt engineering for performance.
  
  Develop Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) architectures using native cloud services.
  
  

Qualifications

• Proficient in verbal and written communication for effective collaboration across diverse, distributed technical teams.
  
  
• Strong foundation in cloud delivery models (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, hybrid architectures), automation, orchestration, and business continuity planning.
  
  Familiar with best practices in hybrid/multi-cloud disaster recovery, auto-scaling, and deployment strategies such as blue-green and canary releases.
  
  
• Minimum of 7 years of hands-on experience in designing and implementing cloud infrastructure, including hands-on experience in AWS and AWS China.
  
  Experience in Serverless architecture design and implementation using platforms such as AWS Lambda etc.
  
  
• At least 5 years of experience implementing AWS Landing Zone and the Well-Architected Framework in enterprise environments.
  
  
• Experience working with digital platforms in industries such as retail, lifestyle, or consumer goods is preferred.
  
  
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is an advantage.
  
  
• Experience with full-cycle digital transformation initiatives across customer engagement, middleware, supply chain, and finance platforms is desirable.
  
  
• Familiarity with data privacy and regulatory compliance requirements such as GDPR, PCI-DSS, and cross-border data transfer assessments is advantageous.
  
  
• Proficient in cloud automation and orchestration tools such as Terraform, OpenTofu, CloudFormation, Jenkins, and Ansible.
  
  
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across functions, aligning technology solutions with business needs while maintaining adherence to enterprise standards and security policies.
  
  
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to critically assess complex systems and drive effective outcomes.
  
  
• Self-driven with a continuous learning mindset; able to adapt to new technologies and methodologies.
  
  
• Excellent organizational, project management, and interpersonal communication skills.
  
  
• Comfortable operating in agile, fast-paced, and evolving environments.
