What the role is
You will be a key member of a project team under the IT Applications Development Hub.
You will be involved in the development and management of the smooth delivery of quality IT systems to meet business requirements of MPA and the maritime community.
You will also manage the daily operations of the IT systems to ensure smooth and efficient user operations.
As part of system delivery, you will manage IT systems integrators and oversee software developers.
You are also required to understand the IT management policy, quality management policy as well as security policy and standards to ensure that the development processes, procedures and systems are designed in compliance to these policies and standards.
To support MPA's systems, you will interface with vendors to ensure technical compatibility and business sustainability on infrastructure and application systems integration.
In addition, you will be responsible to ensure timely resolution of systems problems to ensure optimal IT performance at all times.
You will also be playing a key role in designing systems based on cloud native practice, leading and implementing innovative software solutions.
What you will be working on
Key Responsibilities
1.
Plan and lead the development of the business case as well as the budget for applications
2.
Engage users to understand business needs and requirements
3.
Identify options for potential solutions and assess them for both technical and business suitability
4.
Ensure that projects are executed based on the project plan to meet identified business needs and outcome, within agreed parameters of cost, duration and quality
5.
Assess and the right project management methodologies, including Agile practices, to ensure project success
6.
Identify potential project risks and the implications to the organization and to recommend mitigating measures
7.
Effectively engage and manage the vendors to deliver digital solutions and services
8.
Understand the IT management policy, quality management policy and security guidelines to ensure the development processes, procedures and systems are designed to comply with these policies and guidelines
What we are looking for
Requirements
1.
Background in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information/Infocomm Technology, Computer or Electronics Engineering or related discipline
2.
Minimum 5 years of relevant working experience in a similar role with vendor management as well as systems support / maintenance
3.
Strong vendor and stakeholder management
4.
Candidates with experience in handling projects involving Agile, Cloud, Design Thinking will an added advantage
5.
Project Management or Agile related certifications such as CITPM, COMIT or PMI, Certified Scrum Master.
6.
Strong analytical, conceptualization and problem-solving skills, combined with the ability to present clearly both verbally and in written form
7.
Motivated by innovation to achieve business goals and customer satisfaction
8.
Excellent written, verbal communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
9.
Good interpersonal skills.
