The Advancement Office supports the University’s giving mission by fostering meaningful relationships and strategic partnerships with philanthropists, alumni, business community partners, and corporations that result in goodwill and philanthropy towards education and research, underpinning a shared sustainable future.
This role is responsible for planning and implementation of donor events, programs, and reports, supporting and maintaining stewardship, engagement, and relationship building efforts with our donors and prospective donors, providing bespoke, engaging donor communications, and unique experiences through a wide portfolio of large and more intimate events, with the aim of delivering bespoke donor journeys to all our donors.
The candidate is required to have extensive experience in organising high-profile events, as well as proven success in managing high-value relationships, ideally in a fundraising context.
Additionally, excellent communication skills, experience of development strategies, and the ability to deliver to tight deadlines through effective prioritization is essential.
Responsibilities
1) Events Planning, Supervision and Execution, in alignment with Advancement Office’s and University’s goals
Create, plan, and execute all aspects of stewardship events for donors and prospective donors.
Manage stewardship events schedule with responsibility to liaise with internal stakeholders to ensure smooth execution of all events, including budget management.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure opportunities for artistic and program access that align with donors’ needs and interests, and prepare targeted outreach communications for these opportunities.
2) Impact Reporting
Responsible for comprehensive and integrated stewardship donor reporting.
3) Communications and database management
Write, design and coordinate the production of stewardship materials and communications.
Work on special projects.
Desired Qualifications
A degree in any discipline.
Understanding of philanthropy as it relates to higher education.
Knowledge of good donor relationship management.
Minimum of 6–7 years’ experience preferably in higher education (or a comparably complex organization) in development, stewardship, advancement, or a related function, involving a range of senior stakeholders.
Demonstrated success in achieving strategic outcomes in a large and complex environment.
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate to a wide range of audiences with gravitas.
Excellent ability to innovate and deal with ambiguity and organizational sensitivity with tact and diplomacy; to be opportunistic, responsive, resourceful, and resilient.
Demonstrate a clear understanding and awareness of ethical considerations pertaining to advancement work, as well as an understanding and appreciation of cultural and intercultural sensitivities.
