Job description

(What the role is)

You will be part of a dynamic team involved in the review and formulation of mid-to long-term incentive strategies to achieve STB's desired outcomes and targets, especially as articulated in STB's Tourism 2040 (T2040) strategy.

In addition, you will oversee the management of grant schemes for effective utilization to achieve tourism outcomes and meet industries' needs, as well as ensure policy compliance.

(What you will be working on)

As part of the Incentive Policy team, the role will allow you the opportunity to shape incentives that can address market gaps in STB's efforts to drive destination attractiveness, expand target audiences and grow industry capabilities as well the opportunity to identify and apply suitable analytic and technology tools (e.g. GenAI) to facilitate internal grant processes.

In addition, to augment the overall incentive toolkit for industries, you will assess and negotiate with government agencies and private sector on other available incentives that can support STB's work.

The desired outcome is a portfolio of incentives that STB teams are able to tap on to drive multivariate outcomes and strengthen Singapore's tourism competitive advantage.

You will also oversee and administer selected grants.

This includes:

(i) ensuring grants are effectively used to achieve tourism outcomes and meet industries' needs,

(ii) ensuring policy compliance, and

(iii) analyzing and reporting the portfolio grant performance.

You will be required to work closely with business units internally across STB.

Externally, you will need to maintain good working relationship with other government agencies and various teams within Ministry of Trade and Industry (MTI).

(What we are looking for)

  • At least 3 years of work experience, preferably in areas of policy review and development as well as grants management (e.g. grant design, process, and policy reviews)
  • Experience with business data analytics (e.g. basic analysis tools such as Excel, analysis, and recommendation of data findings)
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Mathematically inclined and good with numbers
  • Strong interpersonal skills to manage stakeholders (both internal and external)
  • Meticulous and detail-oriented
  • Showing good business acumen, analytical thinking and judgement
  • Working effectively within STB to achieve results
  • Working effectively with stakeholders outside STB
  • Serving with heart, commitment and purpose
  • Being innovative and learning continuously
