Responsibilities
- Oversees and/or leads a team to ensure project and program objectives are defined for areas of responsibility, and that necessary preliminary activities (e.g., determination of outcomes, milestones, viability studies, and resource planning) are completed to enable effectiveness in later stages.
- Ensures all projects and programs are completed in accordance with predetermined requirements, with attention to product/process specifications, project/program costs, resource utilization, and timely completion.
- Oversees and ensures that all phases of project, program and/or process development are documented; reports, disseminates, or transfers information to other functional areas as appropriate; ensures compliance with company policies (engineering/lab notebooks, patents, Intellectual property, confidentiality, ISO, safety, etc.).
- Establishes departmental budgets and spending requirements; ensures utilization of materials and financial resources is aligned with the AOP to maximize productivity.
- Effectively assigns work to subordinates, providing for professional development and coaching.
- Spearheads research and development of new manufacturing technologies and ensures that new processes, designs, and/or methodologies are incorporated into Applied Materials products/services or disseminated to other areas as needed.
- Ensures common engineering technology and software packages are used to optimize design development activities and timelines for rapid commercialization.
- Develops business processes to improve group/team effectiveness and drive innovation and continuous improvement.
