Job Functions & Summary
The Marketing Communications Manager plays a pivotal role in shaping and delivering the Club’s brand, communications, and marketing strategies.
Reporting to the Director of Marketing & Communications, this role drives initiatives that strengthen the Club’s positioning, enhance member engagement, and support internal business units in achieving their objectives.
The incumbent will lead communications campaigns, oversee publications, manage brand standards, and ensure the Club maintains a strong and consistent presence across digital, print, and event platforms.
Job Description
Strategic Marketing & Communications
- Support the Director of Marketing & Communications in developing and executing integrated marketing and communications strategies that align with the Club’s goals.
- Plan, implement, and evaluate the effectiveness of marketing campaigns, promotions, and initiatives that drive brand visibility, member engagement, and revenue.
- Work closely with internal business units to provide strategic communications support that advances departmental objectives.
- Identify, develop, and manage sponsorship and advertising opportunities to drive incremental revenue and strengthen brand partnerships.
Content Development & Media Relations
- Draft, edit, and review communication materials including media releases, media pitches, public relations plans, statements, speeches, internal memos, and other corporate documents.
- Ensure all messaging reflects the Club’s brand voice, complies with policies, and supports strategic objectives.
- Build and maintain positive media relationships, proactively pitching stories and managing press enquiries and issues/crisis communications when required.
Publications & Brand Management
- Oversee the editorial plan, production, and timely delivery of the Club’s Islander magazine, ensuring content quality, editorial relevance, and strong member engagement.
- Safeguard and enforce corporate brand guidelines across all touchpoints, including presentations, proposals, brochures, signage, and digital assets.
- Maintain a central library of resources (e.g. photos, quotes, templates) for internal stakeholders’ use.
Events & Member Engagement
- Lead the planning, organisation, and coordination of Club events to ensure smooth execution and high member satisfaction.
- Develop communication strategies to promote events, activities, and initiatives effectively to members.
- Ensure accuracy, timeliness, and relevance of content across all digital platforms including the corporate website, social media, and mobile app.
Digital & CSR Communications
- Ensure accuracy, timeliness, and relevance of content across all digital platforms including the corporate website, social media, and mobile app.
- Partner with IT to enhance the Club’s mobile app to increase adoption and usage among members.
- Develop and implement the Club’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) strategy, driving initiatives that reinforce SICC’s community and sustainability commitments.
Occasional Job Duties
- Any other tasks assigned by Director of Marcom
Requirement;
- Minimum 6 to 8 years’ experience in marketing communications, with at least 2–3 years in a managerial capacity, preferably in hospitality, F&B, or lifestyle industries.
- Proven experience in integrated marketing campaigns, media relations, publications management, and events.
- Strong people management skills with the ability to lead, motivate, and mentor a small team.
- Excellent project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently, prioritise effectively, and deliver under tight deadlines.
- Proficiency in digital marketing tools, website CMS, and social media management.
- Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments, committees, and external partners.
- Exceptional writing, copyediting, and presentation skills with meticulous attention to detail.
