Faststream Recruitment is working with a leading global ship management company to recruit a Marine Superintendent for their expanding fleet of Pure Car and Truck Carriers (PCTC).

The Role

The Marine Superintendent will be responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of assigned PCTC vessels.

This role will work closely with Masters, Chief Officers, and other operational stakeholders to uphold the highest standards of safety, environmental compliance, and vessel performance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the day-to-day marine operations of assigned PCTC vessels, ensuring adherence to statutory regulations, industry standards, and company policies.
• Monitor vessel performance and compliance with ISM Code, MARPOL, SOLAS, and other relevant regulations.
• Conduct ship visits and inspections to assess operational standards, safety performance, and crew competence.
• Provide guidance and support to shipboard management on navigational, safety, and operational matters.
• Investigate incidents and near-misses, ensuring corrective and preventive actions are implemented effectively.
• Liaise with flag states, class societies, port state control, and other regulatory authorities as required.
• Support the planning and execution of vessel dry-dockings, audits, and safety drills.
• Maintain strong working relationships with Masters, ensuring clear communication and operational alignment.
• Participate in budget preparation and cost control for assigned vessels.

Requirements:

• Master Mariner with sea-going experience as Master, preferably on PCTC, Ro-Ro, or similar vessel types.
• Minimum 2–3 years’ experience in a shore-based marine superintendent or operational role (PCTC experience highly desirable).
• In-depth knowledge of international maritime regulations and safety management systems.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to travel for vessel visits, inspections, and audits.
• English and Mandarin mandatory to manage international stakeholders.
