Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Master Baker and Pastry Leader to join our team.
The successful candidate will oversee the preparation and execution of high-quality pastries, desserts, breads, and baked items.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute recipes for new menu items and seasonal specials.
- Lead and mentor a team of pastry chefs and commis chefs to ensure efficient production and high-quality products.
- Collaborate with other kitchen sections to ensure smooth service and maintain excellent communication skills.
- Ensure all food preparation meets health and safety standards, following proper food handling procedures and maintaining a clean working environment.
- Monitor stock levels and place orders when necessary, minimizing waste and optimizing inventory.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a pastry chef or in a similar role within a professional kitchen.
- Strong knowledge of pastry techniques, baking, and dessert plating, including ability to work with various ingredients and equipment.
- Culinary certification or formal pastry training is preferred but not required.
- Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment, ensuring timely delivery of products and services.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills, prioritizing tasks and delegating responsibilities effectively.
- Strong leadership abilities, inspiring and motivating team members to achieve excellence in their work.
- Knowledge of food safety standards (HACCP or equivalent) and ability to implement best practices in food handling and preparation.
Working Conditions:
- Shifts may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays, requiring flexibility and adaptability.
- Standing for extended periods and working in hot environments, necessitating physical stamina and resilience.
