Key Accountabilities
Technical Leadership
Direct and perform advanced Mechanical Engineering (Building Services) activities, including in-depth engineering studies, conceptual design, FEED, detailed design, and commissioning support.
Undertake and validate in-house site surveys, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and conformance to established engineering methodologies.
Standards and Assurance Compliance
Rigorously enforce client's technical assurance protocols, engineering standards, and HSE requirements throughout all project phases.
Critically review, justify, and approve deviations or variations from recognized international codes, standards, and client-approved practices.
Engineering Governance
Provide authoritative input in the periodic review, update, and implementation of client internal standards and technical amendments to international standards.
Ensure that all design deliverables reflect the latest approved standards and incorporate lessons learned from previous projects.
Multidisciplinary Coordination
Plan, manage, and supervise a team of multidisciplinary engineers to deliver technically sound and timely solutions in line with stringent project milestones.
Facilitate cross-functional design integration and alignment between engineering, procurement, and construction disciplines.
Scope Management
Formulate, evaluate, and validate multi-disciplinary workscopes and engineering packages, ensuring full scope clarity, completeness, and technical robustness.
Serve as the focal point for resolving scope ambiguities and interfacing issues with internal stakeholders and external contractors.
Technical Evaluation and Approval
Review and endorse contractors’ method statements, ensuring total compliance with the approved scope, standards, and quality requirements.
Exercise technical due diligence during evaluation of engineering deliverables, contractor submissions, and bid packages.
Project Controls and Scheduling
Develop, maintain, and monitor detailed schedules for internal engineering deliverables; integrate and align schedules with external FEED and EPIC contractors.
Identify potential schedule risks and implement proactive mitigation measures to safeguard project timelines and deliverables.
Contract and Change Management
Conduct detailed technical assessments of bid evaluations, contract variations, and change requests to ensure alignment with client's technical and commercial guidelines.
Provide recommendations to management based on comprehensive impact analyses and engineering justification.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Building Services Engineering
Chartered Engineer/Professional Engineer Status or equivalent is preferred
10 years relevant post graduate experience, of which 6 years should be related to Oil and Gas industry
Ablility to identify and utilise relevant engineering standards and codes related to Mechanical Engineering ( Building Services)
Proven ability to manage time, cost and quality in engineering projects within a mulitple project environment
