Overview
We are representing our client, a leading producer of optical technology, in search for a
Process Engineer .
Our client seeks a dynamic and driven Process Engineer to take ownership of developing and optimizing manufacturing processes in the optics production line.
The ideal candidate will work to ensure stable, scalable, and high-efficiency operations while maintaining compliance with quality and safety standards.
The primary focus will be on enhancing yield and production effectiveness.
Responsibilities
Conduct process risk assessments and implement strategies for stability and throughput improvement.
Guide technicians by providing technical support and performance feedback on production-related issues.
Collaborate with Quality Assurance teams to address quality concerns and implement corrective actions.
Support the quotation process through manufacturability analysis and cost estimation of tools, labor, and yield.
Plan and support pilot runs and full-scale production during new product introductions.
Translate product and system specifications into executable manufacturing processes.
Recommend and assess new tools and equipment for process improvements.
Design jigs, fixtures, and components required for testing or process enhancement.
Lead initiatives to transfer process knowledge across local and global sites.
Promote lean manufacturing and continuous improvement practices on the shop floor.
Work closely with quality control teams to ensure customer satisfaction and consistent output.
Maintain and update essential documentation including SOPs, FMEA, SPC charts, and process flows.
Manage changes through structured change control procedures.
Collaborate with cross-functional departments to align on operational goals.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Optics, or related technical field.
At least 3 years of experience in a similar role within a precision manufacturing setting, preferably optics.
Familiarity with ISO standards, ERP platforms (e.g., SAP), and Lean/Kaizen tools.
Able to interpret technical drawings including GD&T standards.
Experience with statistical tools for process validation and capability studies.
Strong analytical thinking and comfort with metric and imperial unit systems.
Capable of managing multiple priorities in a dynamic production environment.
Hands-on experience in Design of Experiments (DoE) and ANOVA analysis is a plus.
Background in spherical or flat optics processing is an advantage.
