About the Job
Responsible for planning and executing critical rotating mechanical maintenance activities to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient plant operations.
Provides frontline engineering support to sustain equipment reliability and availability, while assisting the Maintenance Team Lead to drive cost-effective solutions and continuous improvements.
Job Responsibilities:
Deliver all assigned rotating equipment maintenance activities in a safe, cost-effective, and efficient manner through contractors.
Lead and supervise contractors in field activities with strict adherence to HSE standards and requirements.
Perform duties as Authorized Applicant and/or Authorized Engineer in accordance with AJI e-Permit to Work (e-PTW) requirements.
Support planning and costing of maintenance activities, including ad-hoc pitstops and unit shutdowns, to ensure safe and timely execution without compromising quality.
Monitor preventive and corrective maintenance for HEMP equipment, ensuring compliance and timely closure of maintenance work orders.
Develop and track mitigation plans to reduce corrective maintenance backlogs.
Provide first-line troubleshooting for equipment failures and participate in root cause analysis.
Identify and resolve recurring bad actor issues, involving specialists where required to implement sustainable solutions.
Collaborate with stakeholders to optimize schedules, resources, and execution plans.
Drive continuous improvement in maintenance strategies, including preventive maintenance, spare parts management, and cost optimization.
Mentor technicians to strengthen maintenance execution capability and ensure competency development.
Prepare and review the annual maintenance budget for the mechanical section.
Support contractors' competency and assurance, including QA/QC in rotating equipment scope.
Provide standby duty coverage and act as backup to the Maintenance Team Lead.
Carry out any other related duties as required.
Job Requirements
Degree/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent relevant qualification.
Minimum 3 years' experience in mechanical maintenance engineering, preferably in the chemical or petrochemical industry.
Strong knowledge of rotating equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
Proficient in Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
Sound understanding of HSE standards and practices.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with hands-on field troubleshooting capability.
Effective communication, leadership, and mentoring skills to collaborate across teams and guide technicians.
