Scope of Work - MEP Technical Engineer
Tender Documentation Review
• Study and interpret tender drawings, specifications, and conditions of contract.
• Identify discrepancies, missing information, and technical risks in tender documents.
• Prepare technical queries (TQ) for consultants/clients during tender stage.
• Carry out specification/ contract breakdown cost check for MEP systems (mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, etc.).
• Support the tender/estimation team in preparing cost estimates, BOQ breakdowns, and pricing (If required)
• Review subcontractor/vendor quotations for technical compliance.
• Assist in preparing tender technical submissions, method statements, and compliance matrices.
• Provide alternative design/engineering solutions (value engineering) for cost/time efficiency.
• Ensure proposals meet authority codes, standards, and client requirements.
• Early contractor involvement in tender projects.
• Coordinate tender-stage MEP drawings with architectural and structural layouts.
• Highlight potential clashes, access issues, or constructability concerns.
• Suggest preliminary equipment sizing, selection, and layouts for tender design.
• Ensure tender proposals comply with relevant codes (BCA, PUB, SCDF, EMA, NEA, SS/CP standards in Singapore).
• Incorporate green building, sustainability, and energy efficiency requirements (e.g.,
• Green Mark SLE, etc).
• Prepare responses to client/consultant clarifications.
• Attend tender interviews/meetings/sites show round to provide technical input.
• Support project manager/tender manager in final technical presentations.
• Prepare MEP tender technical dossiers for smooth transition to project execution team upon award.
• Highlight key risks, assumptions, and clarifications for post-award implementation.
