Required Skills and Experience
Consulting experience with an IT professional service firm (Big 4 or similar) or equivalent background focused on Microsoft 365 E5 workplace modernization, tenant architecture, and large-scale migration/adoption programs.
Deep knowledge of major cloud technologies including identity, networking, device management, and security across Microsoft 365 and Azure (e.g., Entra ID/Azure AD, Conditional Access, Intune/Endpoint Manager), and familiarity with hybrid patterns (on-prem AD, Exchange Hybrid, file/NAS to OneDrive/SharePoint).
Subject matter expertise in at least three domains (e.g., Exchange Online, Microsoft Teams (meetings/voice), SharePoint Online/OneDrive information architecture, Entra ID identity & access, Intune device compliance, Microsoft Defender (Office/Endpoint/Identity), Microsoft Purview (DLP, Information Protection, eDiscovery, Records), tenant governance, migration & coexistence, and Zero Trust) to advise on industry-leading M365 E5 solutions.
Data modeling and analytical experience using common tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI/Tableau) and familiarity with tenant health, usage/adoption analytics, and security/compliance reporting across M365 (e.g., Admin/Compliance portals, Defender, Purview).
Experience with structured, issue-based analysis—capturing and prioritizing collaboration and security/compliance requirements and producing structured conclusions, recommendations, and roadmaps for M365 E5 adoption and migration.
Knowledge of IT Operating Models and Process Frameworks, supplemented with M365 tenant governance (roles, RBAC/PIM), lifecycle and policy baselines (naming, retention/labels, external sharing, B2B), and CI/CD/automation approaches (PowerShell, Graph API).
Awareness of broad competencies and depth in specific competency areas (e.g., workplace strategy, enterprise/solution architecture, information architecture, identity & access, security & compliance, and Teams voice/telephony) with M365 E5 reference architectures and delivery frameworks.
Ability to lead/facilitate discovery, design workshops, and migration planning sessions (information architecture, Teams voice, security/compliance, endpoint); excellent presentation and communication skills.
Understanding of DevSecOps, or Agile, and Scrum constructs, and ability to identify inefficiencies through readiness assessments and develop strategies and approaches to optimize M365 tenant configuration, security posture, endpoint management, and network/performance for Teams/SharePoint.
Preferred Skills and Experience
Experience in enterprise M365/Azure architecture, service management, and/or resiliency with direct exposure to global, multi-geo tenants, regulated environments, and complex coexistence (mail, identity, voice).
ITIL/COBIT certification; Microsoft 365 certifications such as MS-102 (Enterprise Administrator Expert), SC-300 (Identity & Access), SC-400 (Information Protection), MS-700 (Teams), MS-203 (Messaging) strongly preferred.
Business case development skills including ROI and TCO analysis to validate E5 licensing value realization (security consolidation, voice modernization, storage/rationalization, eDiscovery/records).
Experience leading M365 workshops, tenant assessments, and migration/adoption engagements (e.g., Exchange/ SharePoint/ OneDrive/ Teams waves, governance design, Teams voice/Direct Routing or Operator Connect), translating business needs into scalable, secure M365 E5 architectures.
