Position: Modern Trade Specialist
We are looking for a proactive Modern Trade Specialist to manage and ensure availability of
our products in the Supermarkets.
The successful candidate will be responsible for overall
stock levels, merchandising duties and building strong relationships with retail partners.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Account Management & Sales
Develop and execute modern trade strategies for key retail accounts (supermarkets,
hypermarkets, convenience stores)
Achieve sales targets and KPIs for assigned modern trade channel
Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers and store in-charges
at retail partners
Negotiate trade terms, promotional agreements, and shelf space allocations
Conduct regular business reviews with retail partners to assess performance and
identify growth opportunities
Merchandising & Operations
Ensure product availability on shelf and Planogram Compliance across all assigned
outlets
Visit assigned outlets at least once a week to monitor performance and address issues
Assist with stock up of SKUs on the shelves if necessary (able to carry cartons
weighing 15 kg)
Monitor Best Before dates of all SKUs and take note of stocks that have 3 months
remaining
Provide updated weekly location reports and updates in a timely manner
Conduct daily reporting with pictures via CRM system
Category & Brand Management
Work with retailers on category management initiatives and planogram optimization
Ensure optimal product placement, visibility, and shelf share
Monitor competitor activities and market trends to inform strategic decisions
Ensure compliance with brand standards and retailer requirements
Promotional & Marketing Execution
Plan and execute monthly promotions, sampling sessions and product launches
Coordinate in-store promotional materials and displays
Manage promotional budgets and evaluate ROI of trade spending
Analytics & Reporting
Analyse sales data, market share, and performance metrics
Prepare regular reports on channel performance
Track and report on key performance indicators to senior management
Handle any ad-hoc duties assigned by Head of Department as and when required
Requirements:
Minimum GCE 'N' Level / NITEC with at least 2 years working experience in FMCG
merchandising, preferably in F&B category
Strong analytical skills and experience in retail or FMCG environments
Basic Microsoft Word/Excel skills
Excellent verbal communication skills and relationship-building abilities
Physical ability to handle merchandising tasks including lifting cartons up to 15kg
