Overview
The Motion Graphics Designer/Editor is responsible for crafting creative stories with strong artistic and technical skills.
This role can edit diverse styles including commercial spots, brand videos, animatics, web content, narrative, historical, motivational, documentary and training videos.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide creative input across all projects and throughout the post-production process
- Design and deliver engaging motion graphics for video, web, mobile, and other media
- Develop design plans, concepts, layouts, and storyboards for motion graphic projects
- Edit raw footage, adding effects and elements to enhance storytelling and visual impact
- Collaborate with art, creative, editors, and producers to understand project scope, resolve technical/design issues, and align on objectives
- Select and integrate audio, visuals, animation, and other assets to elevate motion design
- Research and apply best practices, techniques, and innovative solutions in motion graphics and production processes
- Participate in brainstorming sessions to share fresh perspectives and ideas
- Maintain best practices for version control, naming conventions, and file organization
- Stay current with the latest motion design and post-production tools and techniques
- Ensure compliance with brand guidelines, design standards, and client requirements
- Create visually compelling, high-quality animations and narratives under tight deadlines
- Demonstrate both technical and creative vision, working independently and collaboratively to achieve outstanding results
- Optimize resources, including equipment and personnel, to maximize efficiency
- Foster a positive team environment and build credibility internally and externally
- Effectively prioritize while managing multiple projects simultaneously
- Commit to continuous improvement of skills, processes, and production quality
REQUIRED COMPETENCIES
- Strong Adobe After Effects skills with demonstrable motion graphics experience, including use of third-party plugins
- Ability to create high-quality animations quickly and edit existing animations as needed
- Proficient in Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, and 2D/3D animation
- Skilled in keyframing, animation rigs, 2D & 3D compositing, and animation tools, with strong proficiency in character animation
- Working knowledge of classical animation principles and 3D software
- Familiarity with DaVinci Resolve, Cinema 4D, Houdini, Maya, Nuke, and Fusion (a plus)
- Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to estimate post-production time, manage assets, and meet tight deadlines
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
- Excellent time management, multitasking, and communication skills
- Positive, enthusiastic, and proactive attitude
