Overview
MTS Advanced Packaging Etch Process Engineering role at GlobalFoundries.
This position is part of Giga Fab in Singapore and focuses on developing and optimizing advanced packaging etch processes (e.g., TSV, plasma dicing, bond fabrication).
The Etch Process Engineer reports to a functional area module manager and is involved in tooling start-up, installing processes into manufacturing, and owning processes and tools in production.
Responsibilities
Design, execute, and analyze experiments to develop advanced packaging etch processes to meet technology targets (performance, yield, reliability) and manufacturing targets (process stability, cost of ownership).
Tool setup, qualification and tool matching.
Improve process robustness for high-volume manufacturing using statistical tools, DOE, data-driven decision making, and systematic problem-solving; apply lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
Collaborate with the equipment team to improve equipment productivity indices.
Support the Integration and Quality organizations to ensure technologies meet qualification and reliability requirements.
Sustain and improve process control / SPC to meet quality, cost, and productivity targets.
Coach and develop other engineers on advanced packaging etch processes knowledge.
Perform all activities safely and support Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs.
Related manufacturing and development experience is preferred.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
BS degree in Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Science, Solid State Physics or other relevant engineering physical science discipline.
Experience in TSV etch, plasma dicing etch and bonding fabrication etch.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s Degree or PhD in Chemistry, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Solid State Physics or other relevant engineering physical science discipline.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with different cultures.
