Job description

[What the role is]

The Senior Manager (Donations and Stewardship)’s primary roles are to:

1.

Lead fundraising efforts to secure and grow donations from corporate partners, individuals, alumni, and foundations in support of the polytechnic’s priorities, such as scholarships, bursaries, and institutional programmes.

The role includes overseeing governance, compliance, and reporting of donations, ensuring proper management of agreements, records, and fundraising performance.

Drive donor engagement and relationship-building by developing and implementing stewardship frameworks that recognise contributions, communicate impact, and foster long-term partnerships.

This includes designing and executing recognition initiatives, producing impact reports, and coordinating engagement activities to strengthen donor trust and sustain support for the polytechnic.

[What you will be working on]

Fundraising & Donations Management

  • Develop and oversee the implementation of fundraising initiatives in support of the polytechnic’s education, annual giving, major gifts, endowment, scholarships and other institutional-related donations programmes.
  • Identify, cultivate, and engage potential donors, including managing high-value donor relationships.
  • Work with internal stakeholders (e.g., Schools, Centres) to align fundraising efforts with institutional priorities (scholarships, bursaries, facilities, programmes).

Donor Stewardship & Relationship Management

  • Develop and implement stewardship plans to recognise, appreciate, and retain donors.
  • Lead a team to ensure timely and meaningful donor communications (impact reports, appreciation letters, recognition events).
  • Strengthen long-term partnerships by demonstrating the impact of donations and aligning with donor interests.
  • Manage and leverage a donor recognition framework (wall of donors, naming opportunities, etc) to help deepen relations with existing and potential donors.
  • Deepen partnerships with community partners and relevant organisations aligned to the cause of holistic student support and assistance.
  • Lead the administration and support the secretariat functions of the polytechnic’s education funds.

[What we are looking for]

  • A passion for working with people, especially in account and relationship management
  • 8 to 10 years of relevant work experience, preferably gained in the education and/or charity sectors
  • Team leadership capabilities, with the ability to coach/mentor staff
  • Solves novel and complicated issues on a regular basis
  • Uses best practices and knowledge of internal or external business issues to improve performance, services or processes
  • A self-starter with an open and positive mindset
  • Strong collaborative and time management skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and spoken)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Tools e.g. Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
