Job Description
The Department of Communications and New Media at the National University of Singapore invites applications for a tenure-track position at open rank (Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor), with expertise in Digital Humanities in the field of Media Studies or Communication, specialized in one or more of the following areas:
computational text or multimodal analysis, data visualisation and digital storytelling, digital archiving and preservation, network analysis and social media analytics, and human-computer interaction in humanities contexts .

Qualifications
PhD in digital humanities, visual communication, media studies, communication studies, information studies, cultural studies, or a closely related discipline.

A Cover Letter: A brief cover letter explaining your interest in the position at NUS and discussing the ambition of your research programme.
Curriculum Vitae (CV): A comprehensive CV including a complete list of publications, awards, grants, and courses taught; the full names and institutions of all PhD and postdoctoral supervisors, as well as any senior authors with whom you have close, regular collaborations; the name and contact details of your PhD advisor/supervisor; honours and awards; major keynote and plenary addresses delivered; elected memberships in professional and learned societies; and memberships on the editorial boards of leading journals.
Academic Certificates and Transcripts: Scanned copies of all relevant academic certificates and transcripts.
Teaching Statement: A statement of teaching philosophy and methodology (maximum 3 pages).
Where available, please provide evidence of teaching ability such as student feedback or peer review reports, as well as evidence of other contributions to education (e.g., curriculum development, pedagogical innovation, production of teaching materials).
Research Statement: A statement (max.
of 3 pages) of major accomplishments in research, citing up to five significant publications, creative work or other scholarly contribution, and explaining their significance.
Sample copies of these contributions should be provided (in the case of books, reviews should be provided).
A research plan (3-page) with a proposed start-up research budget and utilisation plan.
A complete list of publications—grouped into papers, books, and reviews—with full bibliographic details (including page numbers), followed by a citation and impact analysis of your research output (excluding self-citations and, for co-authored work, cross-citations), highlighting papers with the highest citation counts and any creative works with significant impact.
A list of University Service, elaborating on the impact of contributions to the Department, Faculty, and/or University—particularly where there is impactful leadership—followed by a list of Public and Professional Service, detailing the impact of contributions to the international academic community, professional/industry sectors, and national or international agencies.
For Assistant Professor positions : Provide the names, contact details, and your relationship to four referees.
At least one referee must be your PhD or postdoctoral advisor/supervisor.
If you are more than two years post-PhD, referees should not be limited to past supervisors.
Shortlisted candidates will be notified to arrange for letters of reference to be submitted prior to the campus visit.
Referees should benchmark your research performance against peers at equivalent and top institutions or programmes, and must send their letters directly to
For Associate Professor and Professor positions : Provide a list of six recommended external reviewers, including their names, contact details, and your relationship to each.
These external reviewers should preferably not be close collaborators, nor your PhD or postdoctoral supervisors.
