About the Role
We are looking for a responsible and compassionate Operations Coordinator to manage daily operations and service delivery within the mortuary and support services unit.
This role plays a critical part in ensuring dignified, seamless, and professional care for the deceased and their next-of-kin (NOK), while ensuring full compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Administrative Support
Handle all documentation and paperwork related to funeral services, permits, and internal approvals.
- Records & Compliance
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records for deceased patient identification and collection processes, including handling of body parts.
- Customer Service & Communication
Act as the primary liaison for grieving families and NOK, providing compassionate support and coordinating with funeral service providers.
- Facility Management
Oversee the mortuary's cleanliness and setup, ensuring a respectful and dignified environment at all times.
- Incident & Feedback Handling
Work with internal departments to review service feedback or incidents and follow up with appropriate actions to ensure service quality.
- Operational Coordination
Monitor system performance, track issues, and implement process improvements to avoid disruptions in daily operations.
- Policy & Regulatory Adherence
Ensure daily activities are aligned with hospital SOPs, safety policies, and relevant healthcare regulations.
- Other Duties
Support the supervisor and broader team with any additional responsibilities related to operations and service excellence.
Requirements
- Diploma in any discipline
- At least 5 years of relevant working experience, preferably in operations, healthcare, or customer service roles
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills; able to interact with empathy and professionalism
- Self-motivated, organised, and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment
- A good team player with strong time management and problem-solving skills
- Passionate about continuous improvement and service excellence
