The Operations Manager oversees the daily operations of commercial cleaning services across multiple client sites.
This role ensures service excellence, workforce efficiency, and compliance with company standards, the Employment Act, WSH Act, and client expectations.
Responsibilities and Accountabilities
Service Delivery & Site Management
Plan, deploy and supervise cleaning teams across client premises
Conduct regular site inspections and ensure compliance with SLAs
Respond to client feedback and resolve service issues promptly
Workforce & Staff Management
Supervise Site Supervisors, Team Leaders, and Cleaners
Plan rosters, leave schedules, and manpower deployment
Coordinate with HR for staff hiring, onboarding, and training
Client Relationship Management
Act as the primary contact for clients regarding operational matters
Attend site meetings, submit service reports, and resolve escalations
Ensure customer satisfaction and support contract retention
Inventory & Logistics
Monitor cleaning supply usage, ordering, and delivery to sites
Ensure proper inventory records and avoid stock shortages
Coordinate equipment maintenance and replacement
Compliance & Safety
Enforce compliance with the WSH Act and company safety protocols
Conduct toolbox talks, safety briefings, and incident reporting
Maintain documentation for audits and inspections
Process & Quality Control
Implement and improve SOPs and checklists
Introduce digital tools (e.g. Microsoft Forms, Excel trackers) to streamline workflows
Monitor productivity and optimize operations
Requirements
Qualifications
Minimum Diploma in Engineering, Facilities Management, or related field
WSQ/WSH certifications preferred
Class 3 driving license (optional but preferred)
3–5 years in an operations or supervisory role (cleaning/FM preferred)
Strong team leadership and people management experience
Familiarity with cleaning equipment and chemicals
Effective communicator in English and at least one local language
Competent in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Forms)
Ability to multi-task and work independently under pressure
Work Schedule
5 days/week
On-call for urgent operational issues (including weekends/public holidays)
