Key Responsibilities:
- Lead end-to-end project management of optical network deployments (DWDM, OTN, Submarine Cables, etc.)
- Define project scope, goals, deliverables, schedules, and resource requirements
- Manage stakeholder expectations and ensure alignment across internal teams, vendors, and customers
- Coordinate with engineering, NOC, and field teams for network rollouts, testing, and acceptance (e.g., RFC 2544, Y.1564)
- Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation plans
- Oversee procurement, logistics, and vendor performance related to optical equipment (e.g., Ciena, Infinera, Huawei, Nokia)
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, quality benchmarks, and customer SLAs
- Prepare and present project documentation, progress reports, and post-project reviews
- Support presales teams with technical input, BoM validation, and project feasibility assessments
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Telecommunications, or related field (Master's preferred)
- Minimum 5 years' experience managing optical or telecom infrastructure projects
- Strong understanding of optical transmission technologies (DWDM, OTN, Ethernet, SDH/SONET)
- Familiarity with fiber testing, OTDR, and performance testing standards (RFC 2544, Y.1564)
- Experience with project management methodologies (PMP, PRINCE2, Agile is a plus)
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders across diverse regions
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills
Preferred Skills:
- Hands-on experience with equipment from vendors like Ciena, Infinera, Cisco, or Huawei
- Knowledge of submarine cable systems and marine project environments
- PMP or equivalent certification
- Proficiency in project tools such as MS Project, Smartsheet, Jira, or equivalent
- Budget and financial tracking experience
