About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) to manage, maintain, and optimize our mission-critical databases.
The candidate will have a strong background in Oracle, SQL Server, and MariaDB/MySQL administration, including performance tuning, backup/recovery, high availability, and security.
Responsibilities
Install, configure, and upgrade 19c, SQL Server 2019, 2022 and if any experience in MariaDB/MySQL database is added advantage.
Administer production and non-production databases, ensuring high availability and performance.
Monitor database health, identify bottlenecks, and implement performance tuning (SQL tuning, indexing, query optimization).
Manage database backup, recovery, disaster recovery (DR), and high availability (Oracle RAC, Data Guard, ASM, SQL Server Always On, MariaDB Replication/Clustering).
Implement database security, user management, and auditing in line with compliance standards.
Plan and execute database patching, upgrades, and migrations with minimal downtime.
Collaborate with application teams to design efficient database schemas and optimize queries.
Troubleshoot database issues, analyze root causes, and provide timely resolutions.
Develop and maintain scripts for automation of routine tasks.
Provide 24x7 support for production systems on a rotational basis.
Qualifications
Minimum 5+ years’ hands-on experience in Oracle database administration.
Strong expertise in Oracle RAC, ASM, and Data Guard.
Knowledge of MariaDB/MySQL replication, clustering, and HA/DR configurations is an advantage.
Proficiency in backup and recovery using RMAN, SQL native tools, and mariabackup.
Expertise in performance tuning, query optimization, and storage engine management (InnoDB, MyISAM).
Knowledge of database security best practices and auditing.
Familiarity with UNIX/Linux environments and shell scripting.
Required Skills
