(What the role is)
The GRaduate Industry Traineeship Programme within the Public Service () aims to provide fresh graduates with opportunities to gain industry-relevant skills and experience that can strengthen their employability to take up full time roles in the sector.
This traineeship offers hands-on exposure to both career support and scholarships functions within Singapore Polytechnic.
You will gain experience in coordinating talent development initiatives, managing stakeholder relationships, and supporting communication and outreach efforts.
The role provides opportunities to develop transferable skills in communication, operations, event coordination, and digital content creation while contributing to SP's mission of nurturing future-ready graduates.
Key areas of work and competencies:
- Develop skills in planning and executing scholarship and career-related programmes, gaining first-hand experience in event management and stakeholder coordination.
- Learn to collaborate effectively with vendors, partners, and internal departments to support programme delivery and strengthen cross-functional teamwork.
- Build creative and digital communication skills by designing social media/web content and materials that promote events, campaigns, and student success stories.
- Enhance attention to detail, data management, and organisational abilities through reporting, database maintenance, and logistical coordination for events and initiatives.
- Develop core workplace competencies such as communication, teamwork, and problem-solving through shadowing and on-the-job learning with experienced team members.
(What you will be working on)
- Coordinate and support the execution of scholarships and career-related programmes such as interviews, award ceremonies, career fairs, and employability workshops.
- Assist in outreach and communication efforts by preparing infographics, publicity materials, and social media/web content to engage students and promote key initiatives.
- Liaise with external partners, vendors, and internal departments to ensure smooth logistics, timely updates, and effective collaboration across events and projects.
- Maintain accurate records and databases related to employment support activities and event participation, supporting data reporting and follow-up.
- Provide general administrative and operational support to the Careers and Scholarships teams.

- Diploma and above, in any discipline, with strong interest in programme and operations management.
- Strong organisational and project management abilities, able to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills to engage with students, staff, and external stakeholders.
- A proactive, detail-oriented, and adaptable mindset, with enthusiasm for improving processes and trying new approaches.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and digital platforms.
