Job Responsibilities
Perform venepuncture for the collection of blood specimen for dispatch to the laboratory
Update electronic medical record for blood specimen that has been collected and dispatched to the laboratory
Perform blood sugar check using a POCT machine
Practice universal precautions when performing any procedure
Assist nurse in administering oxygen for patient
Assist patient in performing lower limb exercises
Perform inventory management in the ward
Assist healthcare staff in re-positioning of patient in bed
Assist in improving, identifying and implementing changes in the work processes of the Phlebotomy service
Orientate and guide new Phlebotomy staff
Perform any other duties assigned by the nursing supervisors
Job Requirements
Higher NITEC or Diploma in Nursing
Phlebotomist certification by recognized institutions.
Minimally 2 years’ experience in performing venepuncture.
Customer service oriented with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Able to work independently.
Able to work in an acute medical inpatient ward setting.
