Provide assistance to the healthcare staffs by providing venepuncture service and rendering basic care for patients in Acute Medical Unit
Job Responsibilities
Perform venepuncture for the collection of blood specimen for dispatch to the laboratory
Update in electronic medical record for blood specimen that has been collected and dispatched to the laboratory
Perform blood sugar check using a POCT machine
Practice universal precautions when performing any procedure
Perform inventory management in the ward
Assist healthcare staff in re‐positioning of patient in bed
Assist in improving, identifying and implement changes in the work processes of the Phlebotomy service
Orientate and guide new Phlebotomy staff
Perform any other duties assigned by the nursing supervisors
Job Requirements
Higher NITEC or Diploma in Nursing
Phlebotomist certification by recognized institutions.
Minimally 2 years’ experience in performing venepuncture.
Customer service oriented with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Able to work independently.
Able to work in an acute medical in‐patient ward setting.
