Primary Responsibilities:
- Communicate with patients and healthcare staff; explain procedures and address concerns.
- Verify patient identity using two identifiers before collecting samples.
- Perform venepuncture and ensure proper labeling and handling of blood specimens.
- Follow infection control and safety procedures.
- Update patient records accurately in the EMR system.
- Report issues, incidents, or equipment faults to supervisors.
- Inform nurse-in-charge if unable to collect a sample.
- Support process improvements and suggest workflow changes.
- Continuously upgrade skills and techniques.
- Guide and support new phlebotomy staff.
- Take on additional tasks when assigned by supervisor.
Job Requirements:
- Minimum GCE 'N'/'O' Level, NITEC, Higher NITEC, or Diploma qualification.
- Phlebotomy certification is mandatory.
- Prior healthcare experience (internship, part-time, temporary role, or volunteer) is an advantage.
- Fresh graduates with phlebotomy certification are welcome to apply.
