The Planning & Control Manager will be responsible for leading the planning, scheduling, and project controls functions for Oil & Gas or Energy Infrastructure EPC project.
This role ensures effective project planning, cost control, progress measurement, risk management, and reporting in alignment with contractual, technical, and organizational requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Project Planning & Scheduling
Develop, implement, and maintain the overall project master schedule using Primavera (P6) or equivalent tools.
Ensure integration of engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and handover schedules.
Monitor progress against baselines and identify critical paths, delays, and recovery plans.
Cost Control & Budgeting
Establish and maintain project cost control systems, including budgets, forecasts, commitments, and expenditures.
Track variations, change orders, and their impact on cost and schedule.
Work with Finance and Contracts teams to ensure proper allocation and control of budgets.
Progress Monitoring & Reporting
Develop and implement project performance measurement systems (KPI, earned value analysis, S-curves, dashboards).
Provide regular progress and variance reports to management, clients, and stakeholders.
Support management decision‐making with accurate and timely data.
Identify and assess schedule and cost risks, proposing mitigation strategies.
Support the change management process with schedule and cost impact assessments.
Ensure compliance with EPC contract requirements and client reporting standards.
Lead and mentor a team of planners, schedulers, and project controls engineers.
Coordinate with engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning teams to ensure alignment of planning and reporting.
Liaise with client representatives on project controls matters.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, or related field.
Minimum 12–15 years of project controls and planning experience in EPC projects, preferably in LNG, Oil & Gas, or Petrochemical industries.
Strong expertise in Primavera P6, MS Project, and project control systems.
Proven track record in large‐scale, multidisciplinary projects (preferably > USD 300 million).
Strong understanding of EPC contracts, risk management, and earned value methodology.
Excellent analytical, problem‐solving, and communication skills.
Leadership experience in managing planning and controls teams.
Implement HSE objectives, policy, and company HSE procedures within his authority limit.
