MHA - Internal Security Department (ISD)

What the role is

ISD confronts and addresses threats to Singapore's internal security and stability.

For over 75 years, ISD and its predecessor organisations have played a central role in countering threats such as those posed by foreign subversive elements, spies, racial and religious extremists, and terrorists.

You will be part of a team working in the related fields of technology planning, policy formulation and compliance as well as relationship management of key stakeholders.

What you will be working on


• Keep abreast of the latest technological developments within the local and global infocommunications and technology trends in order to understand potential security issues as well as enablers for enhancing security arising from the adoption of future technologies.
• Assess existing technologies with the aim of addressing any attendant security concerns.

It may be necessary at times to formulate new policies as well as update existing policies in light of new security situations.
• Manage relationships with key stakeholders to facilitate effective implementation of security policies as well as gather critical industry feedback in a timely manner.

The Internal Security Department (ISD) confronts and addresses threats to Singapore's internal security and stability.

For over 75 years, ISD and its predecessor organisations have played a central role in countering threats such as those posed by foreign subversive elements, spies, racial and religious extremists, and terrorists.
At the heart of our work are the collection of intelligence that enables us to size up the threats to Singapore's internal security, and taking the executive actions necessary to overcome those threats.

Every day, we collect and analyse intelligence, make impartial assessments, and take decisive action to counter the threats to Singapore's internal security and stability, and sovereignty.
