NICA Technologies is seeking a talented PLC Control Specialist to join our team and make a real impact on exciting turnkey industrial engineering solutions in the field of consumer electronics manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities
Design and develop control and regulation programs for automated systems using PLC programming languages such as Ladder Diagram or Structured Text.
Troubleshoot and maintain existing PLC systems to ensure continuous operation.
Commission installation and integration of PLC programs into physical processes, often on‐site, and introduce the system to the customer.
Optimize control programs and processes to enhance efficiency, operability, and production output.
Visualize and document PLC systems, creating plans, instructions, and diagrams of system functions.
Manage project phases, analyze client requirements, coordinate schedules, and execute commissioning activities.
Provide on‐site customer support and training on safe and efficient use of PLC systems.
Collaborate with cross‐functional engineering teams to gather requirements, troubleshoot issues, and implement improvements.
Consult clients on potential conversions or new system applications, and assist in sales activities.
Perform ad‐hoc duties as required.
Skills & Knowledge Required
PLC Programming Languages: proficiency in OMRON, Mitsubishi, Siemens PLC systems; languages such as Ladder Diagram (LD), Structured Text (ST), Sequential Function Chart (SFC), Instruction List (IL).
Communication Protocols: familiarity with Modbus, Profibus, Ethernet/IP, OPC.
SCADA Experience: hands‐on experience with SCADA software like Wonderware, Ignition, GE iFix.
Automation and Engineering: strong understanding of electrical, mechanical, and process engineering principles related to automation.
Technical Documentation: skills in creating and interpreting schematic and logic flow diagrams.
Educational Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field; certifications in PLC and SCADA systems are a plus.
Soft Skills: analytical, problem‐solving, communication, collaboration, independent work, detail orientation, multitasking.
Experience
Minimum 3 years of hands‐on experience with PLC and SCADA programming in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
Experience in troubleshooting and optimizing existing systems.
Previous involvement in system integration projects highly desirable.
Familiarity with process automation and control system engineering best practices.
Additional Information
Willingness to travel globally to customer sites for commissioning and troubleshooting tasks as needed.
Ability to work in a fast‐paced environment with changing priorities.
Knowledge of safety regulations and compliance standards in automation systems.
