Key Responsibilities
- Quantity Take-Offs & Costing: Measure and calculate the quantities of materials and labor required for plumbing and sanitary installations from construction drawings.
- Tender & Bid Preparation: Prepare tender submissions, including BOQs, quotations, and necessary documentation for bidding on projects.
- Budget Management: Prepare, monitor, and update project budgets, tracking costs and making adjustments as needed.
- Subcontractor & Supplier Management: Source, evaluate, compare, and negotiate with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain favorable terms.
- Contract Administration: Handle general contract administration duties, including preparing and reviewing subcontract agreements.
- Claims & Variations: Prepare and monitor monthly progress claims, variation orders, and assist with the final account settlement.
- Liaison & Communication: Coordinate with various project stakeholders, including developers, clients, contractors, subcontractors, and project teams.
- Cost Control & Analysis: Conduct cost analysis, monitor project costs, and implement cost control measures.
- Drawing Interpretation: Read and interpret construction drawings and technical specifications related to plumbing and sanitary systems.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Experience: Typically requires a minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor, with a specialization in plumbing and sanitary works.
- Education: A diploma or degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field is generally required.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in relevant software like AutoCAD and estimating tools such as Cubicost TME is often preferred.
- Soft Skills: Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills are essential for interacting with diverse stakeholders.
