The Pricing Insight Actuary plays a pivotal role in shaping Swiss Re’s pricing strategy by setting and refining pricing assumptions through rigorous experience analysis and market research.
This includes maintaining and evolving Terms of Trade (ToT) in line with emerging trends, managing end-to-end experience studies in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities include:
Maintain and enhance Terms of Trade (TOT) in close collaboration with the Pricing team, ensuring alignment with evolving experience and forward-looking trends.
Support data research and partner with R&D, Pricing, and Client Markets to support new product solutions, access emerging risk pools, and develop non-product propositions.
Leverage both insurance and non-insurance data analytics to strengthen pricing foundations and inform assumption settings.
Define and review risk appetite and governance frameworks for new products across the innovation cycle.
Support product development and innovation by contributing technical insights, research, and project coordination.
With focus on Management of Experience Studies:
Assist the team leader in managing the end-to-end process for experience studies, working closely with Technical Accounting (TA) and Data Management & Insights (DMI), to ensure timely and high-quality delivery.
Continuously improve the data workflow to enhance the quality and coverage of experience studies.
With focus on Market Insights and Future Trends:
Conduct research on market trends, product development, market intelligence, and regulatory directives to enhance pricing foundations and strengthen Swiss Re’s competitive position.
Work closely with XFTs to stay attuned to market developments and identify potential signals impacting experience and reflect these in the forward-looking trend in the Terms of Trade.
About You:
Qualified or close to qualify actuary (under a recognized actuarial body - SOA/CAS/IOA/FOA/FIA) with a bachelor's degree in actuarial science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics or equivalent.
3–7 years of experience in life insurance or reinsurance pricing, ideally with exposure to Southeast Asia markets.
Knowledge of the Southeast Asian market is highly preferred.
Working knowledge of IFRS17 reporting is highly desirable.
Strong technical and analytical skills, with experience in pricing tools and programming (e.g., Excel, R, Python).
Additional language skills (e.g., Thai, Vietnamese, Mandarin, Bahasa Malaysia/Indonesia) are desirable.
Solid technical foundation in actuarial analysis and statistical modeling.
Ability to communicate technical findings clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical audiences.
