Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Apply expert-level knowledge of cloud-native services (compute, storage, networking, databases, containers, serverless and security)
- Own and evolve operational frameworks including incident response, monitoring, patching, backup, disaster recovery and compliance
- Lead major incident management and root cause analysis (RCA) for critical cloud events
- Develop a library of deployable and documented cloud design patterns, based on the organisation application portfolio, as a basis for deploying services to the cloud
- Demonstrate leadership ability to back decisions with research and the why and articulate several options, the pros and cons for each, and a recommendation.
- Maintain overall industry knowledge on latest trends and technology.
- Ensure compliance with enterprise security and regulatory frameworks (MAS TRM)
- Proven hands-on experience in designing, deploying in AWS cloud.
- Lead cloud security operations in collaboration with security teams.
- Drive automation-first operations through Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation)
- Define optimal design patterns and solutions for high availability and disaster recovery for applications.
- Conduct technical deep dives, operational reviews and incident postmortems
- Partner with Cloud CoE, security and application teams to align operations with cloud strategy
- Oversee patch management, vulnerability remediation, IAM governance and policy enforcement
- Implement self-healing systems, auto-scaling and event-driven operations
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in IT operations, with at least 5+ years in AWS or similar cloud operations (Azure, GCP), preferably within the payment or financial services industry
- Possess practical expertise in AWS service such as experience in designing and developing platform components or monitoring tools in AWS or any of the cloud computing platforms
Skills and Knowledge
- Strong knowledge on AWS architecture and design, professional level certification is mandatory
- Cloud Expert with proven contributions in Amazon AWS
- Proven experience leading incident management, DR, backup/recovery and performance operations at scale
- Ability to carry out industry trends and competitor product/solution analysis effectively
- Good expertise in programming- able to develop and demonstrate technologies in PoC
- Excellent knowledge of cloud computing technologies and current computing trends
- Experience in configuring and tuning cloud-hosted solutions and platforms
- Good knowledge of DevSecOps tool chains and processes
- Strong communication skills and able to articulate complicated cloud reports to management team and other stakeholders
- Hands-on proficiency in IaC and automation tools
