This position is responsible for developing interdigitated back-contact (IBC) solar cell technology for commercial production.
The candidate should bring innovative ideas to enhance conversion efficiency while reducing processing costs and complexity.
A strong background in semiconductor physics, thin film deposition, and experimental design and analysis is essential.
The individual will also design production line equipment for IBC technology and stay updated on external solar cell technology advancements affecting REC's technology roadmap.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop IBC cells based on heterojunction technology.
- Set specifications for production equipment.
Safety
- Comply with safety protocols.
- Participate in safety improvement projects.
Communication and Presentation
- Communicate and present at all organizational levels.
Other Responsibilities
- Perform duties as assigned, varying with departmental targets.
- Stay updated on new external developments in silicon solar cell processes.
- Develop a professional network locally and internationally.
- Potentially rotate to different departments based on skills development.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master’s degree in Electrical, Materials, Chemical, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or Chemistry.
- At least 10 years of experience in R&D or engineering within Solar, Semiconductors, or Electronics industries.
- Proven track record of developing new technologies and implementing them into pilot or mass production.
- Hands-on experience with IBC cell processing and measurements.
- Expertise in efficiency loss analysis based on measurements and characterization.
- Ability to work independently and extended hours if needed.
- Ability to perform standing work for extended periods during experiments.
- Willingness to travel.
- Proactive attitude.
- Experience in Solar/Semiconductors/Electronics R&D is required.
Additional Advantageous Skills
- Experience with high-efficiency crystalline silicon solar cell processes.
- Experience with simulation software like MATLAB.
Location: REC Solar, 20 Tuas South Avenue 14, Singapore .
