Job Description Summary
Responsible for process waste reduction, process optimization and continuous improvement project implementation within Tubing and Cannula manufacturing unit.
Provides specific engineering work related to field of expertise with broad overlap between engineering disciplines expected.
Ensures compliance with BD quality systems, policies, procedures and best practices, and all local, state, federal and BD safety regulations, policies and procedures.
Willing and able to uphold BD Values.
Responsibilities
Identifies, plans and drives waste reduction projects in Tubing and Cannula cell.
Understands top losses within the manufacturing unit and develops and implements plans to eliminate losses and drive OEE performance.
Project management for waste reduction projects, leads the team to complete all improvement activities successfully.
Coaches associates on continuous improvement methodologies within the manufacturing unit.
Responsible for manufacturing unit change control including validation activities, root cause analysis of prioritized OEE losses, and quality events and deviations.
Participates in manufacturing projects when required.
Safety and ISO14001 Environmental accountability.
Ensures a safe, healthy, and environmentally friendly workplace by observing Company’s rules and procedures.
Perform any other tasks as assigned.
Requirements
Minimum Degree in relevant Engineering field (Mechanical, Electrical or Chemical).
Minimum 3 years of manufacturing experience with 2 years in medical manufacturing is preferred.
Project Management experience is preferred.
Experience in yield improvement, waste reduction projects will have an advantage.
Proficient in statistical analysis and analytical software, such as Minitab, JMP etc.
