Role Overview
The Senior Procurement Quality Engineer will be responsible for ensuring all purchased materials, equipment, and services meet project quality requirements and specifications for the offshore project.
The role involves managing supplier quality performance, conducting inspections, coordinating with vendors, and supporting procurement and engineering teams to ensure full compliance with client and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
Review and validate supplier quality documentation (e.g., ITPs, QCPs, MTCs, FAT procedures) in line with project specifications and international standards.
Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and project quality teams to ensure technical compliance of purchased items.
Conduct vendor audits, pre-inspections, and final inspections for critical equipment and materials (e.g., pressure vessels, piping, valves, structural steel, rotating equipment, electrical & instrumentation packages).
Monitor supplier quality performance and drive continuous improvement across the supply chain.
Lead resolution of supplier quality issues and non-conformances, including root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions.
Ensure compliance with client specifications, classification society requirements (e.g., ABS, DNV), and relevant international codes (e.g., ASME, API, ISO).
Support the development and maintenance of the project’s Supplier Quality Plan (SQP) and Inspection Assignment Package (IAP).
Coordinate and liaise with Third Party Inspection (TPI) agencies for critical inspection points.
Manage documentation turnover (inspection reports, release notes, NCRs, data books) in accordance with project requirements.
Participate in project quality meetings and provide input on vendor quality performance to support procurement strategy.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or related Engineering discipline.
Minimum 8–12 years of relevant experience in procurement quality, vendor inspection, or QA/QC within the Oil & Gas or FPSO sector.
Strong understanding of fabrication, welding, NDT, pressure equipment, rotating machinery, and E&I packages.
Familiarity with international standards and codes (ASME, AWS, API, ASTM, IEC, ISO).
Experience with vendor management and inspection coordination for large EPC or FPSO projects.
Knowledge of classification and client specifications (ABS, DNV, Shell, ExxonMobil, MODEC, SBM, etc.).
Excellent communication and coordination skills with multi-disciplinary teams.
Strong documentation, reporting, and follow-up capabilities.
Willingness to travel to vendor sites (local and overseas) for inspection activities.
Preferred
Will be a plus to have experience in high-pressure vessel manufacturing or large-scale engineering projects.
