Position Summary
The Procurement Executive will support the sourcing and procurement of steel materials and auxiliary supplies across all production capabilities.
This role ensures timely, cost-effective, and quality-assured material supply to support our Cut & Bend, Stirrups, Prefabricated Cages, Bore Pile Cages, and Shear Line services.
The role is aligned with ISO-compliant procurement processes and BizSAFE safety standards.
High-performing Procurement Executives have the potential to progress into the Procurement Manager role, taking full leadership of the procurement function.
Key Responsibilities
Procurement Operations
- Assist in sourcing and purchasing raw steel and auxiliary materials required for Cut & Bend, Stirrups, Prefabricated Cages, Bore Pile Cages, and Shear Line operations.
- Prepare and issue purchase orders; follow up on delivery schedules to ensure production continuity.
- Maintain accurate procurement records for ISO audits and BizSAFE compliance.
Supplier Coordination
- Liaise with local and international suppliers (Malaysia, China, Turkey, Europe) to confirm specifications, lead times, and logistics.
- Assist in supplier evaluation, onboarding, and performance tracking.
- Monitor market pricing trends and report to the Procurement Manager.
Cost & Risk Support
- Support cost analysis and participate in negotiations led by the Procurement Manager.
- Identify potential risks to supply continuity, quality, or cost, and escalate as needed.
Supply Chain & Logistics Support
- Collaborate with Production, Planning, and Logistics teams to ensure smooth material flow.
- Monitor inventory levels and flag shortages to prevent production disruptions.
- Verify delivery documentation and ensure alignment with procurement and finance records.
Quality & Compliance
- Ensure all procured materials meet company quality standards for structural steel products.
- Adhere to BizSAFE safety standards in supplier interaction, storage, and material handling.
- Support ISO audits with complete and accurate documentation.
Requirements
Education & Experience
- Diploma or Degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field.
- 2–4 years of procurement experience, preferably in steel, construction, or manufacturing.
- Knowledge of ERP procurement modules (Odoo, SAP, or Oracle preferred).
Skills & Knowledge
- Familiarity with steel products and production processes (Cut & Bend, Stirrups, Prefabricated Cages, Bore Pile Cages, Shear Line).
- Understanding of ISO-compliant procurement processes and BizSAFE safety standards.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and organisational skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Personal Attributes
- Detail-oriented, proactive, and results-driven.
- Team player with cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Fluent in English and Mandarin; Malay proficiency is an advantage.
