Job description

We are looking for an experienced Manager to lead the daily trade control, P&L reporting, and risk oversight functions for a global commodities trading business.

This position plays a critical role in ensuring the accuracy of trading records, integrity of financial results, and effective collaboration between Traders, Finance, Treasury, and Risk teams.


The Manager will oversee trade validation, position monitoring, and P&L production, ensuring full transparency and governance across trading activities.

You’ll lead a global team, drive process improvements, and support ongoing system transformation projects to enhance reporting and control efficiency.


Key Responsibilities
Supervise the Middle Office team in daily trade control, validation, and management reporting activities.


Oversee daily P&L production for physical and derivative trading books, ensuring accuracy and consistency.


Validate trade entries, pricing marks, and forward curves for both physical commodities and paper trades.


Reconcile internal trading systems with clearing banks and brokers for exchange-traded products.


Manage confirmation and contract workflows for financial trades.


Maintain strong relationships with clearing brokers and financial institutions.


Support market and credit risk teams in exposure monitoring and reporting.


Partner with Treasury to manage margin requirements and cash movements.


Work with Finance on month-end closing processes and P&L substantiation.


Produce regular management reports and analytical summaries on trading performance.


Monitor trading activity, identifying and escalating unusual transactions.


Engage in discussions with Front Office and Risk to understand trading strategies and exposures.


Provide leadership, coaching, and guidance to the Middle Office team across global locations.


Candidate Profile
Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.


8+ years of experience in Middle Office, Product Control, or Trade Control functions within commodities or financial markets.


Strong understanding of derivatives, physical trades, and risk management principles.


Hands‐on experience with ETRM platforms.


Excellent analytical skills with a focus on accuracy, governance, and controls.


Proven leadership in managing high‐performing teams across regions.


Strong communication and stakeholder management skills across Front, Risk, and Finance functions.


Proactive, detail‐oriented, and able to thrive in fast‐paced trading environments.
