Job Purpose
To coordinate production and technical services at the Centre in alignment with corporate policies and guidelines, with the aim of delivering world-class arts programming supported by efficient and effective backstage operations
Duties and Responsibilities
- Client Liaison
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients regarding technical and staffing requirements.
- Coordinate and schedule production and technical activities across venues.
- Liaise with front-of-house teams to ensure seamless performance execution.
- Interpret and communicate technical plans to relevant departments and input details into the venue management system.
- Provide timely cost estimates for internal and external clients, revise as necessary, and ensure accurate invoicing and verification post-event.
- Policies and Procedures for division
- Assist in developing and implementing of departmental policies and standard operating procedures.
- Production and Technical Coordination
- Oversee production and technical operations to ensure smooth backstage workflows through effective resource scheduling.
- Advise clients on enhancing production value within established parameters.
- Uphold production standards as defined by the Technical Production Department.
- Production Database Management
- Maintain and share database of creative professionals, backstage personnel, and suppliers.
- Staff Scheduling and Deployment
- To provide production schedules and manpower plans based on technical requirements using EBMS.
- Recruit and supervise casual stage managers and contract staff as needed.
- Support the Technical & Production Manager in the effective deployment and management of technical staff.
- Occupational Health and Safety
- Ensure a safe working environment across all stage and backstage areas.
- Enforce the use of appropriate PPE for technical crew and visiting personnel.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and address any hazards promptly.
- Ancillary functions
- To coordinate and event manage ancillary venues or events.
- Assist in technical induction training courses.
- Additional duties
- To carry out and assume any other duties and responsibilities as and when assigned by senior management.
Qualifications
- Educational qualifications
- Tertiary qualification in Technical Theatre, Stage Management, or equivalent professional experience.
- Training
- Certification in First Aid and Fire Safety/Fire Fighting is an advantage.
- Basic knowledge in stage craft, stage lighting and stage audio.
- Computer literate.
- Experience
- Minimum 5-year experience in the Technical Theatre, Live Entertainment industry or related field.
- Specific skills required
- Strong team leadership and collaboration abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; proficiency in additional languages is a plus.
- Good interpersonal and client service skills.
- Basic accounting knowledge is beneficial.
- Familiarity with the arts industry and theatre production processes.
- Proactive and methodical approach to problem-solving.
- Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
- Willingness and comfortable in conducting training for production personnel.
